May Motor Mayhem

Get ready for a month of excitement and adrenaline as Kingman presents May Motor Mayhem featuring a classic car cruise, shows, off-road racing, and street drag races throughout the month of May. Whether you're a fan of vintage cars or high-speed races, there's something for everyone during May Motor Mayhem.

This spring event season kicks off with the 34th Annual Route 66 Fun Run. Classic car enthusiasts from all over the globe will attend this historic event, which promises to be a one-of-a-kind experience for everyone. The festivities will begin on Friday, May 5th in Seligman. Saturday morning is the big day with a classic car cruise, where participants will drive their prized possessions through the scenic roads of Route 66. Several of the communities along the way will have various specials and entertainment in celebration of the event. The Show N Shine Car Show (with more than 800 entries) will take place in historic downtown Kingman from 9am to 4pm, giving visitors the opportunity to view some of the most beautiful and well-maintained classic cars on display. The last leg of the cruise will commence at 10am on Sunday morning with participants heading to Topock for a community bbq. www.66funrun.com

That’s not all! Off-road racing is coming to Kingman on May 6th and 7th! AZOP will be presenting the 5th race in their championship series at Long Mountain Event Center near the airport on Route 66. Racers from 3 to 70 years old will be traveling from all over the southwest to compete on an off-road track with sandy corners, whoops, and jumps in many exciting classes. Come out to cheer on your favorite local racers. There will be several classes racing throughout the day, with the most popular classes for spectators to watch being the Big Bike, Big Quads/Trikes, and the Big UTV class. The first race begins at 7am each day with races lasting from 20 to 45 minutes. Spectators should bring ez-up canopies and chairs for the best viewing experience. UTV Offroad Adventures presents Hualapai Mountain UTV Fest on May 12th through 14th! You won’t want to miss this weekend filled with adventure! This three-day event will take you on some of the most scenic trails Arizona has to offer in safe and organized manner. They will provide guided trails, meals, quick draw poker, corn hole tournament, raffles, and lots of fun, laughs and good times. Designed for all age groups and UTV experience. On May 13th, American Woodmark is hosting a charity car show to raise money for KAAP (Kingman aid to abused people). All proceeds from the event will go to this cause. Come and marvel at the gorgeous vintage cars on display. The event will also feature a fantastic selection of food trucks serving up delicious eats while you take in the sights. And for those who want to keep the excitement going, there will be plenty of games to play and a prize raffle. The event will start at 4:30pm in the Powerhouse parking lot, located at 120 W Andy Devine Ave, and ends at 7pm. Admission is FREE! Car registration is $20. The Kingman Route 66 Street Drags are the largest legal street races in the world! Taking place on May 19th through the 21st, get ready to witness some of the most powerful and high-performance vehicles as they race down Route 66 right in Kingman. The races will feature various categories, from muscle cars to motorcycles, ensuring that every gearhead will find something to enjoy. The three-day event will also feature dozens of food and craft and exhibition vendors situated behind the starting line on Route 66. Spectators can expect to see burnouts and have photo-ops with the famous Street Drags Trophy Girls. General Admission is $20, children 6 and under are free with a paying adult. Spectator parking will be available at the Mohave County Fairgrounds with a trolley ferrying spectators to and from the West gate entrance. May Motor Mayhem closes with Chillin’ on Beale St happening on May 20th. This month’s theme is Tribute to the Military, honoring the brave heroes who have served our country. Not only will you be surrounded by some of the most gorgeous classic cars around, but you'll also be grooving to the beats of their talented DJ! Event starts at 3pm and will go until 6pm.
