Family owned El Palacio began in 1992 and has expanded into six locations. El Palacio of Kingman opened in 1995 in the 100 year old building on historic Route 66.
Most recently, El Palacio was listed among Arizona Highway's "Best Restaurants 2014" list (April 2014 issue). "Follow the Firetrucks" was the key to the selection process in 2014. Logic suggests that firemen know their neighborhoods and the good eatin' spots. So using local fire departments to help pin-point the winning list just makes good sense. And we agree - El Palacio's is one of Arizona's best Mexican restaurants!
El Palacio also stole the show placing in 12 categories at the 2012 Arizona Taco Festival. El Palacio took home 1st place in Beef Taco, Anything Goes Taco, Salsa, Guacamole and the Reserve Grand Champion title. They also placed in the Pork Taco, Chicken Taco and Seafood Taco categories. At the 2011 Arizona Taco Festival, El Palacio’s salsa and guacamole took home 1st place awards.
Other noteworthy accomplishments include:
Best Mexican Restaurant and Best Booth Décor at Taste. Chandler’s Culinary Festival, 2012
2nd Place for Mild & Hot Salsa at the My Nana’s Salsa Challenge, 2012
Best Hot Salsa at the Maricopa Salsa Festival, 2012
