Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 9am to 10:30am at the Mohave Museum of History & Arts. They will be unveiling the Dr. Reba Grandrud Collection of Roy Purcell sketches. Roy Purcell is well known for his giant murals painted on rocks in Chloride, AZ. Dr. Grandrud generously donated 15 different pieces displaying a mixture of Native American and Mohave County mining subjects. Dr. Grandrud and the artist Roy Purcell will be both in attendance. Dr. Grandrud has been a fixture in Arizona history research and education for decades. She served as the Heritage Fund Planner and Coordinator of the National Register of Historic Places for Arizona. Through this role she was instrumental in registering many Mohave County historical buildings. Roy Purcell was the designer of the first Mohave Museum in 1968 and later served as its director. His work still adorns the wall of the museum. The Museum is thrilled to be able to honor both of these accomplished individuals and display this remarkable collection.
